2020 Roundup with Naizon
Yassine Mokdad, otherwise known as Naizon is an Italian DJ and Producer who has been working his way up the ranks to worldwide recognition. 2020 saw the Italian DJ and Producer release some sensational tunes including ‘My House’, ‘Midnight’ and ‘Pause’. The year of Covid 19 also saw Naizon develop his now worldwide radio show where he shows off his ear for music and has even welcomed some incredible guests such as Toolroom’s Maxinne. We caught up with Naizon to get his 2020 Roundup.
First off, how has this year been for you considering the circumstances?
Full of good things to be honest. I bought my first house, grew my brand significantly and created a radio show featuring great DJs every week. I have been very productive this year!
What has been your highlight of 2020?
So many good releases and also a collaboration with one of the biggest DJ-producers from Brazil! It’s still top secret.
Which release of yours has been your favourite this year?
Definitely ‘My House’, it’s very personal to me, I made that track together with my wife, so every time I listening to it, it brings nice memories.
How do you feel your artistry has developed over 2020?
Definitely grew and learned a lot. My radio show airs worldwide within the next 6 months and I already have a roster booked out with weekly guests. This, with the help of the team at Matt Caldwell PR, grows bigger and bigger each week.
Have you achieved the goals you set out to do in 2020?
Absolutely yes, even more! I look forward to 2021 as it will be a big year for me with loads of exciting collaborations and releases.
Which other artist has been an inspiration to you this year?
Definitely Biscit, Eli Brown and Dom Dolla
What are your resolutions for 2021?
In terms of work- lots of new tracks and collaborations. Then to put a lot of work on my private studio, so I can get everything to the next level.
Personally, I would have to say spend more time with my loved ones and hopefully have some time away in Mexico
Where would you like to see your career this time next year?
Being on tour and playing somewhere in the world.
Do you have any big plans in the pipeline that we can get excited about?
My collaborations next year will be so exciting! I can’t wait for the end product and for everyone to hear it.
Finally, if you could give one word, to sum up, your 2020, what would it be and why?
BUSY. Despite the pandemic and limits on socialising, I have been very productive music-wise and privately. You know how it goes – “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade!”
