Before the new year begins, we asked ZEHV to prepare a special mix with his favorite tracks of the year. And here it is: packed with powerful bangers; this is the sound of 2022, according to ZEHV. 

1. Tantum – Terminal Velocity 

One of my favorite up and coming producers, Tantum balances lots of unique sound design so well to create dark, groovy tracks and this one is a standout for me this year. 
 

2. Zehv – Ōkami 

My 2nd release on Mood of Mind, I am just very proud of how this track came together. Experimenting with vocals and song structure, this track is very versatile and fun. Puts a smile on my face everytime I hear it! 

3. Forerunners, Mike Isai – Arrakis 

Two producers I admire greatly, Forerunners and Mike Isai have been at the top of their game this year. Dark, driving, hypnotic, groovy…this song just does it for me.  
 

4. Zehv – Mockingbird 

Another track I’m incredibly proud of, it’s the first I really began exploring sounds with modular synths. I find it beautiful and fun with the breakbeat in the middle.  
 

5. Chemical Brothers – Three Little Birdies Down Beats (Zehv Bootleg) 

This song holds a lot of meaning for me. It came about just from listening to this album with my girlfriend and we both agreed it’d be fun to play in a set, so I took a stab at a bootleg and it came together so naturally.  

6. Mike Rish – The Quest (Kabi Remix) 

Mike Rish is having a year and putting some amazing music out. Juicebox is one of my favorite labels and this remix by Kabi is exactly what I look for in my sets. Driving, groovy, and emotional.  
 

7. Forty Cats – Mutualism 

The rise of Forty Cats the past few years has been so fun to watch. She has become one of my favorite producers as well, putting out a lot of quality music. This was a standout for me this year.  

8. Juan Pablo Torrez, Kamilo Sanclemente – Ghost Train 

This might be my favorite club track this year. Super groovy, upbeat, energetic and fun drop. Absolutely love it. 

9. Zehv – Ghost 

My last release of the year, making this song was pure inspiration from the club shows I saw this year. It was all the sounds I yearn for on a dance floor and am very excited Manual Music picked it up to share with the world.  

10. Guy J – Last Standing 

It’s rare to hear a song that makes you stop in your tracks and turn your thoughts inward. This song is just special in every way and anyone that’s heard it on a dancefloor has a beautiful story to tell about the moment they heard it.
